Squadron Commander
Captain David Harrison

Captain Harrison has served in a variety of roles during his CAP Career: Before assuming his previous role as Deputy Commander for Cadets, he served as a Professional Development Officer, Aerospace Education Officer and Recruiting & Retention Officer. He is also the Group Orientation Flight Coordinator, and works closely with Group and Wing Operations to make sure Group One cadets have the opportunity to experience powered aircraft orientation flights. Captain Harrison is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and works as a Financial Advisor.  He has completed Officer Basic Course, Squadron Leadership School, Corporate Learning Course and Region Staff College; he has served as an instructor for the Training Leaders of Cadets Course.  Captain Harrison holds Emergency Services Ratings as a Mission Radio Operator, Ground Team Member (GTM3), Mission Scanner & Mission Observer.  His CAP resume includes the CAP Disaster Relief Ribbon with V-Device, Homeland Security Ribbon, CAP Achievement Award, and a Wing Commander's Commendation.  He has completed Level IV in the Senior Member Professional Development Program and holds a Master rating in Aerospace Education, as well as Technician ratings in Cadet Programs, Emergency Services, Personnel and Professional Development.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deputy Commander for Cadets
Captain Brian C. Weitzel

Captain Weitzel joined the Butler Composite Squadron 712 in September of 2011 as a cadet. Weitzel was an active cadet. In addition to the Earhart Achievement, Captain Weitzel has been recognized as PA Group 1 Cadet NCO of the Year and was a four time recipient of the Squadron Attendance Award.. Weitzel ended his cadet career as a cadet Major. When Weitzel transitioned to Senior member, he became the Assistant Administration, Personnel, Leadership, and Testing officer. Weitzel was awarded his Senior member Level 3 in October 2020. Along with his CAP awards and nominations he received his Bachelors in Arts in Psychology at the University of La Roche in Pittsburgh. Weitzel made the president’s list or dean’s list 6 out of 8 semesters of College. Weitzel is currently working in the field of Adult with Disabilities as a Behavioral Support Specialist, Community Support, and is trained and certified by the Office of Developmental Programs as a Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA).

 

 

Squadron NCO
Master Sergeant Eric C. Klemm

MSgt Klemm joined Squadron 712 in 2016 and has had two Cadets in the program: Hannah Klemm and Logan Klemm. MSgt Klemm served in the US Army for 23 years and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7) as a Combat Medic . He originally joined CAP as an Emergency Services Officer in Squadron 712, and filled in as an Assistant Cadet Activities Officer, Logistics Officer, and Supply Officer. He has completed Squadron Leadership School, Training Leaders of Cadets, and the Unit Commander Course. His CAP resume includes the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Achievement Medal, Red Service Ribbon, Air Search and Rescue Medal, and Disaster Relief Ribbon. MSgt Klemm is also currently serving as the PA Wing Group 1 NCO Advisor.
